Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Shake handles information in the Shake iOS app, TestFlight beta, and getshake.app website. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@getshake.app.

What we collect

Account information — name, username, email address, sign-in provider identifier, profile photo, and profile details you choose to add.
Content and social activity — markets, positions, comments, replies, reactions, messages, follows, completion proposals, disputes, and content you share.
Beta wallet activity — virtual test-credit balances and transaction history. Beta credits have no cash value and Shake does not collect payment-card or bank information in this beta.
App usage — screens viewed, feature interactions, session timing, app version, operating-system version, and device class. Analytics intentionally excludes message bodies, comments, passwords, email addresses, phone numbers, names, and search text.
Device and notification information — device identifiers created by the app and push-notification tokens needed to deliver notifications.
Media you choose — profile images or other images you deliberately upload or save using an in-app action.
Website and waitlist information — the email address or phone number submitted, IP address, coarse location derived from IP, browser user-agent, page URL, and submission timestamp.
Website usage analytics — pages viewed, scroll depth, sections reached, buttons and links clicked, time on page, referring site, and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived from. This includes session replay, a de-identified reconstruction of how the page was used. Text you type is masked in these recordings, and the email address or phone number you submit is never sent to our analytics providers.

Why we collect it

To create and secure your account and provide app features.
To operate markets, social interactions, messaging, notifications, and the virtual beta wallet.
To measure beta usage, diagnose failures, improve performance, and decide what to build.
To prevent fraud, spam, duplicate signups, abuse, and unsafe conduct.
To operate the waitlist, send beta invitations, and answer support requests.

How it is stored and shared

We use service providers including Supabase for app authentication, database, storage, and realtime features; Apple and Google for sign-in; Apple Push Notification service for notifications; Vercel for website hosting and analytics; PostHog for website product analytics; and Google for waitlist storage. These providers process information only to provide their services to Shake.

We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. Content you post to public areas of Shake can be visible to other users.

Legal basis

Where applicable, we process information to perform our agreement with you, based on your consent, to comply with law, and for legitimate interests such as operating and securing the beta.

Retention

We keep account and app data while your account is active and for as long as needed to operate, secure, and evaluate the beta. You can delete your account in the app. We may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup integrity. Waitlist entries are removed when they are no longer needed.

Your choices

You can edit profile information and notification preferences in the app and delete your account from Settings. To request access, correction, export, or deletion, email hello@getshake.app from the email associated with your account.

Children

Shake's current public beta is intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the beta changes. The date above shows the latest revision. Questions, privacy requests, and safety reports can be sent to hello@getshake.app.
